Gail Kinman
Professor of Occupational Health Psychology, Society of Occupational Medicine
Gail is Visiting Professor of Occupational Health Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. She is a Chartered Psychologist and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the Academy of Social Sciences. Gail publishes extensively on the wellbeing of people doing emotionally demanding work, such as health and social care. Her research covers workplace mental health, burnout, remote and hybrid work, and suicide postvention in the workplace. A member of the Society of Occupational Medicine, Gail chairs the special interest group in Occupational, Health and Work Psychology. She has authored several well-received guides for the Society, covering topics such as sickness presenteeism, burnout and suicide postvention. Working with organisations such as the Department for Education, the NHS, Health Education England and Research and Practice, she has developed resources to improve work-related wellbeing. Gail has recently co-edited a book ‘Wellbeing at Work in a Turbulent Era’ published by Elgar.
