Prof Gail Kinman
Gail is Visiting Professor of Occupational Health Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. She is a Chartered Psychologist and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the Academy of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on workplace mental health, burnout, and the wellbeing of people in emotionally demanding roles, particularly in health and social care. Gail has a specific interest in remote and hybrid working. She was invited to give evidence to the recent House of Lords Inquiry on this issue. Gail chairs the Society of Occupational Medicine’s Special Interest Group in Occupational Health and Work Psychology and has authored several well-received guides for the Society, with a new guide on remote and hybrid work and health due shortly. She recently co-edited Wellbeing at Work in a Turbulent Era (Elgar) and is currently co-authoring a book on supporting remote and hybrid working for the British Psychological Society’s Ask the Experts series (Routledge).
