Dr Bill Gunnyeon CBE
Bill Gunnyeon is by profession an occupational physician whose career has encompassed the armed forces, local and central government, and the private sector. For 9 years from 2005, he was the Chief Medical Adviser and Director for Health and Work at the Department for Work and Pensions where he led the development and implementation of the Government's health and work agenda including the commissioning of the Waddell and Burton evidence review "Is Work Good for Your Health and Wellbeing?". After leaving DWP and following a spell of consultancy work, he has pursued a non-executive career where appointments have included Governor at Glasgow Caledonian University, Chair of the Board of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health , and Lay Member and Chair of the General Osteopathic Council. He is currently a Lay Member of the General Dental Council. He was appointed a CBE in 2009.
