Angela Matthews
Angela joined BDF in 2013. She has worked in BDF’s advice and consultancy teams, and she is now Director of Public Policy and Research. She leads BDF’s policy and research groups, including the Disabled Employee Network Leaders Forum, the Work and Health Policy Forum, and the Disability Data Monitoring Working Group. She regularly contributes to Human Resources (HR), occupational health, and workforce inclusion publications. She has appeared on BBC News, BBC Radio, and a range of BBC and business-led podcasts on topics including women’s work and care ethics, the disability employment gap, and disabled employees’ rights. She also regularly gives evidence at various Parliamentary Select Committee inquiries and is a regular keynote conference speaker. Angela’s current work at BDF includes working with employers on implementing upcoming mandatory pay gap reporting requirements, the Employment Rights Act, the Keep Britain Working Review, and changes to the Access to Work scheme.
