Peer Support and Action Learning
Introduction
"Colleagues in adversity supporting each other", is how Reg Revans (the grandfather of Action Learning), described the process. With the current crisis in presenteeism, this programme teaches the skills of great facilitation, underpinned by Nancy Kline's 10 components of a Thinking Enviornment™, in order that everyone's views are encouraged, heard and valued.
Session 1 (Full-Day)
You will leave the initial full day training with a good understanding of:
- what is required to create an environment where colleagues can do their very best thinking.
- how it feels to think independently and provide space for others to do the same.
- how to turn issues to questions that stimulate everyone to think.
- how to facilitate a structured session, which maintains equality, courageous contributions and welcomes difference.
- where and when you can make the most of your new skill-set.
Session 2 (Half-Day)
After normally a couple of months, the follow-up session explores and builds on your experience of facilitation to date and provides an opportunity to reconnect with the process. Some will also have the opportunity to facilitate a peer support/ALS session and receive appreciative and constructive feedback and areas to develop.
Who is this programme for?
The Peer Support and ALS programme is designed for those who want to know how to create environments for their colleagues and teams to think at their very best. The skills learnt, can be applied to all meetings, to make them more collaborative and productive.
