Raising awareness of mental wellbeing has never been so important. In 2019, the World Health Authority reported that 12 billion working days are lost every year to depression and anxiety. Since this report we have lived through a global pandemic and without doubt those figures will be even higher.
Education and awareness are key. So too is professional engagement. This does not require sticking plasters. Instead we need to engage professional support because our businesses and our people deserve nothing less.
I'm looking forward to sharing details of my book, The Resilience Template - 7 Steps to Improve Your Mental Health, with delegates at the Health and Wellbeing at Work summit.
The book is aimed at helping people understand and recognise stress in their lives and how to manage it better. When working 1:1 with private clients I found that embedding healthier strategies and coping techniques can be hard and that is why I encourage people to link them to existing habits.
By aligning the two we have a much higher chance of maintaining and sustaining better ways of living.
