The Impact of Shift Work on Sleep

12 Mar 2024
Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

Shift workers account for 14% of the UK’s workforce – and there is a large body of evidence showing that fatigue relating to shift work is responsible not only for accidents at work and on the roads, but that poor management of shift worker’s sleep can cause short- and long-term health conditions. This session will focus on the science behind sleep, explaining the negative effects of shift work and highlighting the issues to be aware of and strategies to minimise the impact of shift working patterns on employee heath, wellbeing, productivity and safety.
