Bone Health in the Workplace - How to Recognise Those at Risk of Fragility Fracture

Musculoskeletal Health

As employers transition to more older employees, supporting their capacity to work is a growing priority. There is increasing evidence that bone health is a critical component of physical and mental health of older people as well as indirect intergenerational effects. There are evidence-based tools to assess bone health and effective interventions that rapidly reduce fracture risk and maintain independence in the healthcare setting. We need models that translate these findings to the workplace setting so no employee is left at avoidable high risk of fracture.
