A Strengths-Based Approach to Managing and Coaching Colleagues
11 Mar 2026
Management and Leadership
Increasingly leaders and managers are being advised that if they want their teams to thrive they need to ‘play to people’s strengths’ - but what does that mean in practice and does it work? This session will look at the science behind the psychology of strengths and how we can create organisational cultures that celebrate and enable strengths-based approaches. Michele will explain how it’s not enough for people to know what their strengths are and will explore how we can actively enable people to develop their strengths through how we manage and coach. By the end of the session participants will: • Understand how and when strengths-based approaches work - and what that means for organisational cultures • Have insight into the most effective ways to introduce strengths-based approaches into the workplace • Have practical strategies and tips they can implement to embed strengths-based management and coaching practices
