Emotions, Everyday Trauma and Performance – Why it’s Everyone’s Business
11 Mar 2026
Workshops
We all carry emotional experiences—some recent, some long past—that shape how we think, feel, and behave at work. Whether it’s stress, loss, burnout, or more complex trauma, these experiences influence our ability to focus, collaborate, and perform. This session explores how understanding emotional responses—especially those rooted in difficult or overwhelming experiences—can help us create more supportive, high-performing workplaces. By normalising the conversation around trauma and emotional load, we make space for empathy, resilience, and better outcomes for everyone.
Why this matters to everyone:
- Trauma isn’t just about extreme events—it includes any experience that overwhelms our ability to cope.
- Most people will encounter trauma or significant emotional stress at some point in their lives.
- These experiences often show up at work as disengagement, reactivity, or burnout—not because people don’t care, but because coping can be exhausting.
Participants will:
- Understand how emotional experiences—including trauma—affect workplace behaviour
- Learn to recognise signs of emotional overload in themselves and others
- Gain tools to respond with empathy, and practical support
- Build confidence in having emotionally aware performance conversations
