New Discoveries in the Management of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain

10 Mar 2026
Musculoskeletal Health and Pain Management
Description of discovery and components of novel pathway for fibromyalgia-type chronic pain. Learning outcomes: - This chronic pain pathway is distinct from standard pain neurological pathways - This might explain its resistance to standard pain-killers - This chronic pain pathway is triggered by acidosis of tissues on multiple occasions, perhaps by coincidence with arrival of other triggers. - Triggering of this pathway requires activation of muscle position sensors (proprioceptors), which interact with nearby pain sensory pathways.
